An absolutely gorgeous deep red color, I love just looking at these intimidating ants.
And I mean intimidating, they are quite large (for ants lol), and like their cousins Pogonomyrmex californicus, they have a very powerful sting.
One time I had an individual follow me around for several paces with intent to harm!
I love that about them, can you imagine encountering a colossus that you couldn't even comprehend the entirety of its being, and STILL choosing to attack with no fear whatsoever?
